Join us and discover the astonishing beauty of São Miguel Island in the Azores archipelago. We’ll show you the highlights of this island, as well as to some of the lesser known gems found at the heart of São Miguel. The trip’s relaxed island pace combines breathtaking scenery, with adventure and tranquility, earning it a 5-star rating.
A direct flight from Boston, Toronto, Madrid or Lisbon will take you to this string of lush volcanic islands, sitting in the middle of the Atlantic, with temperate weather all year round. Composed of nine islands, this Portuguese archipelago is one of the few unspoilt paradises left on the planet. Tour Reviews
Another Amazing Trip by Terracotta Journeys!
This was my second trip with Terracotta Journey in Portugal, specifically Azores and just like the first time I was not disappointed. Besides very nice 4 stars accommodations, great restaurants and picnic meals, beautiful hikes and cultural experiences like tea plantations and pineapple farms, you get something that is very rare in travel industry of today.
You get a personal touch and attention of a small local travel outfit. You hike with the owner, you share meal and wine with his family, you make comments on the trip in real time directly to the source.
You also get tremendous satisfaction by contributing to a small business of this amazing country. I hope that more people understand the value of this experience.

Wow! What an awesome adventure.
Thank you (and Isabel and Nuno) for a fabulous time on Sao Miguel. So many new memories and friends. The hotels were so luxurious, the food was delicious, the guides were amazing, and the hiking was fantastic. We all were in awe of the vegetation and abundance of flowers. Thank you again and again!
